Costa Rica reopens the border with Panama with hundreds of Cubans trapped
Costa Rica’s decision to close its borders and leave hundred of Cubans trapped was unexpected, its reopening does not guarantee that Ortega, ally of the Communist regime, will allow Cubans to pass after rejecting on Friday a hundred of deportees from San José.
1,200 temporary visas have been offered to Cubans after the chaos generated by the strengthened border controls. Fear that idyllic relations between Washington and La Habana will not last long has increased the number of Cubans trying to reach American soil.
