Guinea’s last Ebola patient discharged
Guinea was the last country still fighting the recent outbreak of the virus. Ebola is believed to have surfaced in a forested region of the country in 2013, and since then it has killed more than 11,000 people in western Africa.
Guinea’s last Ebola patient, a month-old baby, has been discharged from the treatment center. Guinea could be officially declared Ebola-free if in the next six weeks no new cases are reported.
