France bans organized demonstrations in Paris during the climate summit
Environmentalists had calculated that the marches could gather 200,000 people to pressure governments to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. They have had to rethink their plans due to the attacks in Paris last Friday, in which 129 people died.
«In order to avoid additional risks, the Government has decided not to authorize the climate marches planned in public places in Paris on 29 November and 12 December,» the statement said. Concentrations will only be allowed » in closed easily insurable spaces.»
