The Soviet pioneer movement is still alive in Russia
The Union of Pioneer Organizations includes children’s and pioneer organizations across the country and is considered the successor to the National Pioneers Organization created during the early 20s. The creators of the pioneer movement took the example of the Boy Scout movement born in the West in the twentieth century, but with a distinctly communist content. In October, Putin signed a decree that ordered the creation of a new youth organization called «Russian School Movement» that aimed at «educating the younger generation, instilling character and building values inherent in Russian society….»

The Pioneers Movement created in the Soviet Union that inculcated the communist ideology in children and adolescents, is still valid, and now even Putin prepares a new youth organization inspired by the pioneers.
