Snowstorm paralyzes North China
Chinese authorities have organized a rescue operation with up to 4,100 rescue teams, 1,500 snowplows and about 24,000 tons of de-icing fluid and salt to melt snow. On Sunday, Beijing airport canceled 150 flights, as planes were not able to take off or land. Over 20 flights were delayed in the Tianjin Binhai International Airport.
Highways closed and flights canceled. These are the consequences of the snowstorm that is hitting northern China. The authorities foresee the snow will hit harder in Mongolia, the provinces of Schanxi, Hebei and Beijing and Tianjin municipalities.
