Brussels extends alert but reopens schools and subway lines

Interior Minister, Jan Jambon , said to Flemish network VRT that police will ensure «maximum protection.» 300 agents will monitor schools in Brussels, and 200 policemen will be deployed at subway stations. Jambon has also guaranteed that starting today police presence will safeguard people on the streets. Charles Michel, Belgian Prime Minister, has confirmed that the level 4 alert will remain at least until next Monday.

Although the terrorist alert level has been extended until next Monday, today schools and the subway lines will reopen «progressively» in Brussels. The Belgian government will deploy about 500 agents in these places.
