Unemployment in Brazil soars a 33%, the worst recession since 1930

Unemployment among young adults between 18 and 24 years is one of Dilma Rousseff ‘s biggest headaches, reaching a 19.7, more than double the average. The recession of 3% this year in Brazil mostly affects mostly those entering the labor market for the first time. Inflation currently stands at 10.3%.

The worst recession in the country since the ’30s is undermining thousands of jobs. The unemployment rate registered in the last quarter by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics reaches up to 8.9 %. Young people are among the most affected.
