Airbus patents detachable cabins to facilitate boarding
‘Wired’ says that designing a new plane and putting it in the air takes about ten years, so you won’t be seeing a convertible aircraft or removable cabin anytime soon.
Airbus is in the process of patenting detachable cabins to save time and simplify the boarding process. Passengers could be seated even before their plane has arrived. Afterwards, the cabin would be attached to the aircraft.
