Dance and color for the "friendship" of saints in El Salvador

In June and November, Cuisnahuat celebrates meeting between their patron saint, San Lucas, and the patrons of other communities, in a celebration of Catholic tradition of several centuries. The participants meet in the caves of Cumpas, a natural excavation. The traditional dance group ‘Los Historiantes’ has a parade during the welcoming ceremony for devout Catholics.

The Catholic residents of the ‘Cordillera del Balsamo’ gather in November in the village of Cuishnahuat to celebrate the » friendship» between their respective patron saints in an ancestral ceremony for more than 300 years.
