India to move crematorium to protect the Taj Mahal from smoke and ash

Uttar Pradesh’s government will have to move a crematorium located near the Taj Mahal to protect the iconic monument from the smoke. The crematorium must be installed far from the mausoleum.

The Supreme Court claims the white marble mausoleum is threatened by the smoke and ash pollution coming from the crematorium. The government urges citizens to used electric-powered crematoriums.
