100 miners buried by a landslide

At least 100 people have died, buried by a landslide in a jade mine in Kachin. The avalanche occurred at dawn, when a column of debris of about 80 meters fell on 70 huts.

The incident occurred when some citizens dug in the stone mountains discarded by mining companies hoping to find a piece of jade unnoticed by the operators. According to authorities, the mountain caused an avalanche that killed those seeking jade and many others sleeping in the cabins. «Only five cabins escaped.
