China to open world’s largest animal cloning center in 2016

The decision to build the center was taken to satisfy China’s increasing demand for “quality beef”. The facility may cause alarm in Europe, where animal cloning for agriculture was banned in September due to animal welfare considerations. The center, which will have a gene storehouse and a museum, required an investment of $31 million.
