When were potatoes first consumed in Spain?

Discovered in 1550, the potato’s introduction to Europe was slow and questioned. People refused to eat potatoes, and used them as horse food. It wasn’t until 1770 when Antoine Parmentier promoted them as part of a healthy diet.
