Eight children killed in Kabul blast while playing

Authorities say the device was an unexploded munition. There are millions of unexploded ammunition in Afghanistan due to decades of civil war. About 16.5 million have been withdrawn. Since 1989 there have been several programs to clean up the territory, and since then there have been 22,000 victims.

At least eight Afghan children have died after a bomb exploded in an area of ​​Kabul where they were playing. The Interior Ministry’s spokesman, Sediq Sediqqi, confirmed that all victims are between nine and fourteen.
