Terrorist who plotted to blow up a Manchester’s shopping center sentenced to 40 years
Abid Naseer was arrested in Britain in 2009 along with 11 other men and later released for lack of evidence. In 2013, Naseer was extradited to the United States, and in March of this year he was convicted on three charges of providing support to al-Qaeda and plotting to use a destructive device. He has now been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
A 29-year-old Pakistani student has been sentenced in New York to 40 years in prison for plotting attacks on behalf of Al Qaeda against Manchester’s Arndale shopping center, the NY subway and a Danish newspaper.
