Wi-Fi zones expand in Cuba
The demand and technological modernization advocated by the country has led to an expansion of wireless Internet access zones, located in busy parks and urban areas. Although this measure is in line with the policies promised after the end of the thaw with the US, it does not fit the lifestyle of the average Cuban. The price of connection remains of two dollars per hour, very high compared with the average wage of $23 a month.
There are already 50 public Wi-Fi zones in Cuba, and Cuban company ETCSA is expected to create five other before the end of the year. However, the price of connection is very high compared to the average wage.
