New exoplanet very close to Earth is found
“Our galaxy extends about 100,000 light years,” which is why we can consider it “a close neighbor of the Sun”, according to one of the research’s coauthors. Its high temperatures, estimated to be around 226 degrees, make it unlikely to find water.
Scientists at MIT have discovered a new rocky exoplanet with an atmosphere. About 127 light-years from Earth, it is the closest ever identified. Named GJ 1132b, the planet is approximately Earth-sized.
