ISIS built tunnels under the Iraqi town of Sinjar
An Associated Press exclusive report shows that under the Iraqi town of Sinjar, the militant group Islamic State built a network of tunnels with sleeping space, equipped with electricity and fortified with sandbags. There were also boxes of ammunition manufactured in the United States, medicines and copies of the Koran. The tunnels were discovered by Kurdish forces, which took the city in northwestern Iraq earlier this year after more than a year in the hands of the radical militia. «It was like a network within the city,» said a Kurdish peshmerga commander.
