The number of Internet users in India shoots up and reaches the U.S.
Although the first place remains distant as China has 600 million users, all estimates place India as the second largest cyber-community with 400 million, surpassing the United States, according to IMRB International’s data.
The proliferation of mobile phones and Internet’s arrival to rural areas has caused a growth in the number of Internet users in India. By December there are estimated to be 49% more users than last year. In October India already had 375 million users, reaching U.S. numbers.
