Venezuelan opposition politician Luis Manuel Diaz shot to death
The leader of the opposition Democratic Action Party received several shots fired from a vehicle. Also present at the event was Lilian Tintori, wife of imprisoned opposition politician Leopoldo Lopez. The opposition attributes the attack on «armed gangs» of the ruling party. The government has not officially ruled on the matter, but before the event the president of the National Assembly, Diosdado Cabello, said the attacks on the opposition are «staged.» This occurs ten days to the parliamentary elections.
